AQWA Café

Enjoy relaxed dining in the air-conditioned Café or take in the spectacular ocean views across the harbour or Indian Ocean from one of our two outdoor dining terraces. Serving delicious hot meals, burgers, fresh sandwiches and wraps, our Café is the perfect spot to enjoy lunch. Or, recharge and refresh with a barista-made coffee and something from our selection of locally made cakes and ice-creams!

  • Open daily, from 9am:
    • Kitchen closes at 2.00pm. Closing time may vary.
  • Vegetarian and Halal friendly options.
  • AQWA Annual Members receive a 10% discount when dining in the Café.
  • Proudly reducing single-use plastics and organic waste. All of our takeaway containers, cups and cutlery are compostable and drink containers are recyclable on-site.

Roger Swainston

AQWA is delighted to collaborate with Western Australia’s celebrated marine artist and author Roger Swainston, offering visitors the opportunity to view a selection of his exquisite art prints on display at the aquarium.

Roger’s artwork is uniquely inspired by his life as a zoologist, environmentalist, and his unwavering passion for understanding, embracing and championing the marine world — particularly the underwater wonders of Western Australia.

Ocean Playroom

Enter a realm beneath the waves and get creative with AQWA’s interactive playroom, suited to children aged 2+ years. Get hands-on and sculpt the sea floor, unleash some colour then bring your design to life, or simply sit back, dream up whatever your heart desires and tell it to our Wishing Fish…

  • Open daily 10am, subject to bookings*
  • Included in AQWA entry
  • Augmented Reality Sandbox – Sculpt the sea floor and create habitats to reveal new marine life with this augmented reality interactive sandbox. As the sand depth and shape changes, so too will the animals (and treasures!) revealed.
  • Digital Art-quarium – Bring your ocean art to life, with this digital projection activity. Colour in your favourite sea creature, sign your name to your masterpiece, scan your masterpiece onto the projector, then POP! Watch as your picture comes to life, swimming through the virtual aquarium.
  • Wishing Fish – Write your greatest wish on our paper strips and peg it to our magical, iridescent Wishing Fish – it might just come true!
