Youth Marine Program

These school holidays, teens can ignite a passion for the sea, science and sustainability with AQWA's most in-depth, all day, fully hosted Marine Program! Eco Teen: Ocean Discovery is the ultimate workshop for nature lovers, budding biologists and keen eco-warriors, with a focus on conservation, sustainability and citizen science fieldwork. Activities include microplastic beach sampling, behind the scenes tours & animal feeds at AQWA, eco-crafting, and a simulated turtle lab to discover more about turtle biology and what goes into their rescue, rehabilitation, tagging and release. A fantastic 5 hour program where teens get hands-on!
Available to participants aged 12-16. Further participant exclusions and requirements apply (see below).
This program will run on select dates during WA school holidays from from 8.45am – 2.00pm* .
Maximum 9 participants per session.
Bookings are essential. Availability is limited and is subject to change without notice.

Due to the nature of this program, bookings for Companion Card holders should be arranged by contacting our Reception team via reception@aqwa.com.au
*Rescue turtle viewings and feed presentations are based on the individual requirements of the animal/s on the day and as a result may not be available. If rescue turtles are off-exhibit, alternative content will be offered.
Participants must be aged 12-16 years.
Participants will require a parent/guardian to sign them in and out on the day.
Participants must be capable of walking on sand and traversing stairs.
Participant to bring water bottle, hat, jacket and comfortable shoes.
Not available for those under 12 years or over 16 years.
Bookings do not include ‘priority entry’ to AQWA, so arrive with plenty of time before your booked experience starts, see below:
Start time is 8.45am. Must arrive 10 minutes prior to start time for briefing and handover.
Once signed-in, participants will not be permitted to depart from the program without a parent/guardian.
Approximate finish time is 2.00pm, dependant on number of participants on the day.
Parents are not required to stay for the program.
Booking Terms / Cancellations / Refunds:
Once a booking is made, it is non-refundable.
Minimum numbers must be met for program to proceed. If minimum numbers are not met, you will be offered al alternative date, program or refund at AQWA’s discretion.
Bookings can be cancelled/rescheduled up to 7 days before the booked experience without penalty, by contacting AQWA.
Bookings cancelled/rescheduled within 7 days and up to 24 hours before the booked experience will be at AQWA’s discretion and may receive a re-booking fee (penalty).
Cancellations within 24 hours of the booked experience, missed sessions or “no-shows” on the day will NOT be refunded or rescheduled. In the instance of serious illness or injury, a medical certificate will be required.
