Group Excursions for commercial childminding providers* are available on request and have limited availability.

Your Excursion request will be reviewed to as soon as possible and you will receive either a confirmation or alternative dates from our Bookings team.

Group Excursion rates exclude Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays, as well as Special Event days.

Minimum 10, maximum 65 children per booking. For larger groups, please contact us direct (08) 9447 7500.

Excursion Groups must sign-in at reception on the day and confirm numbers.

If you do not pre-book for your group and receive a booking confirmation, standard public rates of Adult and Child will apply. Please note: AQWA’s Concession, Family and Complimentary Infant with Adult ticket-types DO NOT apply to commercial childminding providers.

*Any childminding provider that accepts fees for their services, including Family Daycare providers, can book a Group Excursion rate. Education rates/offers and Standard public rates/offers do not apply.

Before you arrive, please discuss the following with your Educators and Group:

Supervisory Requests:

1. The supervisory team must accompany children throughout the Excursion at all times and actively monitor behaviour (see notes below).
2. AQWA staff move throughout our exhibit areas and while they will not undertake any supervisory role, they will intervene where behaviour or activities put animals, displays and/or visitors at any risk.
3. AQWA expects Excursion Groups to divide into smaller groups and split up to explore, with a dedicated Educator for each group.
4. We aim to generate wonder and excitement for all, so we do ask that Excursion Groups remain orderly and show courtesy towards all of our other visitors.
5. AQWA can be very busy during school holidays – we recommend using an identifying vest, bib or shirt so you can easily monitor your group. Complete head-counts regularly.

Behaviour Expectations:

For the health and safety of our animals and all visitors, please note the following expectations and conditions of entry:

In All Exhibit Areas:

1. No running inside, climbing on barriers or handrails, or leaving personal items unattended (except in dedicated storage spaces).
2. Shoes must be worn at all times.
3. Pkease DO NOT place your hands in exhibits that are open, except for at the dedicated Touch Pool (see below and check your map). Some animals have spikes, sharp teeth and venomous skin!
4. Fish have ears! They don’t stick out like ours, but they have them none the less. Fish can hear three times louder than us so please talk quietly and don’t yell.
5. When at AQWA, please don’t tap the glass! Fish and sharks have a line of special sensory cells along their body called a lateral-line. These cells sense vibrations! Our fish and sharks will feel the vibrations if you tap, and they may think you’re a predator and hide out of view!

At The Touch Pool: 

1. The animals in the dedicated Touch Pool are safe to touch
2. Keep all animals underwater, at all times. This is how they breathe!
3. Touch all animals gently, using soft, flat fingers to pat – not poke, squeeze or grab!
4. If it’s feeding time, listen to your Ocean Guide and keep hands out of the water until the feed is over.
