Mini Behind the Scenes (Year 4+)

This excursion package includes a 15 minute exclusive behind the scenes tour where small groups (10 students + 1 adult) will be taken into AQWA's restricted curatorial grow-out room. Here students will learn about the life cycle of jellyfish by seeing each phase in action; discover how we hatch, control and care for our jellyfish populations; and find out about other animals bred at AQWA. Through witnessing the coral grow-out area and Coral Bank up close, students will also be introduced to the intricate world of the coral reef including: how coral reefs are formed and the variety of animals which depend upon coral reefs and each other to survive.

There is a minimum of 10 students to book this package.
This package has been designed to meet essential strands in the Year 4 curriculum [Science Understanding] and is available to all students in year’s 4+.
The tour has a duration of approx. 15 minutes, up to 4 groups per excursion:

This activity is best suited to a groups of up to 40 students (plus up to 6 teachers/helpers).
