Crocodiles

ANIMAL CATEGORIES: Marine Reptiles

Crocodiles are large reptiles with four short legs and a long, muscular tail. Their body is covered with thick, scaly skin made up of armoured, waterproof plates. They have powerful jaws, cone-shaped teeth, clawed webbed toes and a unique body design that enables their eyes, ears and nostrils to be above the water while the rest of their body is hidden below. Like all reptiles, crocodiles have a backbone, scales, breathe air and lay eggs. They also rely on their environment to warm or cool their body.
